Ultrasonic Sensors
Ultrasonic sensors use sound waves to detect the presence of an object. They can detect liquids, clear materials, coarse materials, and irregular surfaces without the false trip issues of photo-electrics. They are available with dual outputs, making them ideal for many fill level applications. Porous materials may shorten the effective range due to sound absorption, and ambient noise may interfere with the signal.
